Eric has over 10 years of experience in the world of corporate leadership and talent acquisition. The last seven of those years were spent as Regional Director of Recruiting at MassMutual New York State.
Eric’s time at MassMutual NYS was full of unique experiences and accomplishments. As a director, Eric lead a new approach to the regional branding of the agency and a new method of fostering strategic business alliances. Eric also developed a robust college internship program that forded a new selection process for identifying future agency talent. Furthermore, he worked with a team to create a progressive financial awareness program aimed at the millennial generation in Western New York called The Establishment. Eric was part of the record-breaking MassMutual NYS Leadership team while the firm saw incredible growth from 87 advisors to 172 advisors and achieve five record revenue years (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019) in the agency’s 133-year history.
Eric has often had the pleasure of serving as a speaker and presents on topics such as recruiting, team building, leadership, and talent development. He has had the honor of presenting multiple times at national recruiting conferences for MassMutual. Additionally, Eric has pioneered a unique program called “Life After Sports” where his talks are geared towards preparing student-athletes for the next chapter of their lives. “Life After Sports” was created by Eric and draws from his own experiences as a college athlete transitioning into the business world. “Life After Sports” has been delivered at multiple NCAA institutions by Eric with incredibly positive feedback. This success ultimately pushed him to create The Competitor’s Mentality brand, which is designed to encourage people to adopt a competitor’s mindset in their day-to-day lives and push them to accomplish their goals.
Eric is incredibly active within the Western New York community. He is currently on the organizing committee for the annual Pepper United 3v3 Soccer Tournament which honors his friend, the late Christopher Pepper, who passed away from Melanoma in 2016. Additionally, Eric served on the Board of Directors for PUCCS Foundation, a non-profit that works to build awareness around concussions and stroke in youth athletes, from 2014-2019.
A native of Kenmore, New York. Eric is a former JUCO/NCAA soccer student-athlete. He captained the Erie Community College soccer program to two regional playoffs while earning All-Regional and All-Conference honors as a Center Midfielder. He continued his collegiate career at Buffalo State where he also served as a team captain of the Bengals.
Eric currently resides in Lewiston, NY with his wife Stefanie, and son Eriksen.
